Republican Nominations

22 Jan

Romney – Flips flops on several issues

Gingrich –  Very much a hardcore politician. Mr.Washington DC

Santorum – Smart and down to earth

Ron Paul – Knows why America is stuck. Don’t think he can change it.

Sorry but Rick Perry is goofy

16 Jan

When Rick Perry was announced he was running for the office of the President of USA, I was curious to know more about him. Seeing his first debate, I was appalled how he became a Governor of a state. Mind you, I am very conservative in my belief and I would call my self republican if  Iwere an American. Its very disconcerting how Texans are not seeing through candidates like Bush and Perry. Perry is much goofier than Bush. I hope he does not secure the republican nomination.

He recently called that Turkey was ruled by terrorist for which was some columnist labeled him as an idiot. The columnist did not realize that Perry was alluding to the turkey in his farm which became toast for the last Thanksgiving. Often Canada is ridiculed by Americans as being stupid and naive. Gosh, do they even see the big log sitting on their eyes.  Only in America, people like Perry and Palin get to become a state’s governor. Lalu Prasad Yadav is God compared to these two.

Border Gavaskar Trophy should be renamed Ponting Tendulkar Trophy

Agreed Border and Gavaskar were legends in their times. However they were surpassed by two other more talented batsmen namely, Ponting and Tendulkar. Here are the stats that backs this claim. The indicator that judges their merit is their batting averages

Moneyball and Dhoni

16 Jan

Indian fans have swung in varied emotions when it comes our favourite player Dhoni. When he joined the Indian squad he energized the team third only to Tendulkar and Sehwag. His captaincy has been phenomenal compared to all the Indian captains before him. Regardless of what I am about to say, he is still the right man for the job of captain.

But when it comes to batting in overseas tests he has often struggled. His struggles in batting has bogged down his captaincy. Here are the stats records for Dhoni from year 2005.

  • Australia – 243 out of 14 innnings matches
  • South Africa – 283 out of 9 innings
  • England – 429 out of 13 innings

Next time India tours Australia or South Africa, India needs a different man for the job of both batting and captaincy. I doubt that Dhoni will ever be able to climb out of his discomfort to play in these two countries. If India is serious about 2015 world cup, they need to put a plan that does not include Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
